About OBRA
The name is the standard.
In Spanish, an obra is a built work — and here on the border, everyone knows when an obra was done right and when it wasn't. We put the word on our trucks because we're willing to be judged by it.
OBRA Design + Build is a Laredo company. We design and build outdoor living spaces for the way South Texas families actually live — carne asadas that go past midnight, summers that demand water and shade, and backyards that work as hard as the people who own them.

How does pricing work?
Every project is priced from its design — not from a guess over the phone. After the design phase you get a defined scope and price before construction starts, so there's no mystery math at the end.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. Permitting is part of the design-build package. We prepare and manage the paperwork so the project moves without you chasing approvals.
Do you work outside Laredo?
Our home base is Laredo and Webb County, and we take projects in the surrounding South Texas border region. Call us with your location and we'll tell you straight whether it's in range.
Can we build in phases?
Yes — and it works best when the whole backyard is designed up front. We can master-plan the full space and build it in stages, so phase two doesn't mean tearing up phase one.
Do you only build pools?
No. Pools are a big part of what we do, but we design and build complete outdoor spaces — palapas, patios, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, decks, fire features, landscape and hardscape.
How long does a project take?
It depends on scope, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we will do is give you a realistic schedule with your design — and communicate every week during the build.
